The Norwalk community gives farmer’s market a warm welcome

Fruits and vegetables were on sale at the farmer's market located on the West campus at NCC.

Norwalk Community College is hosting a farmer’s market from Oct. 28 to Nov. 18.

The market is located right on the front lawn of the West Campus every Tuesday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Dominick Gazy and his mother are the owners of the market. All of the fruits, herbs, fresh cut flowers and vegetables are all grown at the Gazy Brothers Farm located at 391 Chestnut Tree Hill Rd, Oxford, Conn.

Apples and pears are $1.79 a pound, carrots, egg plates, kale, broccoli are $2.50 a bunch, tomatoes, green peppers, and onions are $2.79 a pound.

Alexander Slone, a student at NCC has purchased carrots, tomatoes, kale and parsley in the past and loves the fresh foods.

Professor Kummel said that it would be a good idea if the school would provide a couple of parking spaces for people passing by that would like to stop and make purchases.

Gazy said that they have another location at the Darien Goodwives Shopping Plaza every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
